Getting here, and what is nearby

We are at 22 Rockwood Road, and Rockwood Road is Route 6/15, the same state highway that comes through town as Moosehead Lake Road and then Pritham Avenue. From the blinking yellow light in the middle of downtown it is about 1.7 miles, roughly three minutes, and the drive never leaves the highway. There is no passenger rail up here, so plan on driving.

Greenville sits at the foot of the lake, and the region is why most people make the trip. Lily Bay State Park is nine miles north along the east shore. Katahdin Cruises and the Moosehead Marine Museum sail a 1914 steamboat from Lily Bay Road between late June and mid-October. Big Moose Mountain rises a few miles west of town. Downtown keeps the Stress Free Moose Pub and Jamo’s Pizza on Pritham Avenue, with Greenville Grinds Coffee Shoppe on Lakeview Street.
